It is an inquiry into my place as an Indian-American and child of brown immigrants in the folk tradition of Americana. The mosaic is comprised of thousands of small pieces of paper painstakingly and patiently pasted onto a board.)

Rought Cut/Work in Progress
I seek to use visual arts to amplify marginalized voices and create and claim space for underrepresented stories. This is a rough cut (i.e. first draft) of my first short documentary, a portrait of a queer interracial couple raising their first child. I wrote, directed, and edited the film and shot the b-roll myself. A couple wonderful classmates helped with lighting and camerawork for the interviews with Shay and Lisa. True indie, no budget filmmaking. (Sound will be cleaned in later cuts.)

As a creative consultant, I supported this client in her visual storytelling needs for her fellowship project. I provided camerawork/videography, advice on design thinking talking points, and ideas about ways to convey her story (including the photo roman in this clip).
